It gets particularly frustrating when a defensive act by another nation is seen as provocative and grounds for retaliation just because it doesn&#039;t align with our own best interests. This goes hand in hand with the conventional wisdom that good diplomacy just involves Obama going around to other nations, being rude to their leaders, and insulting their people ... anything else is a &quot;stinging rebuke&quot; of America&#039;s &quot;outstretched hand&quot;.</description>
