Despite the occasional lapse into liberal condescension,
The New Yorker’s
profile of Whole Foods CEO John Mackey, the new age-y libertarian whose
Wall Street Journal health care
op-ed sparked massive protests last summer, is pretty interesting.
Reason is also running a Mackey
interview.

“The next day, I dined at the vegan counter. I decided on a “gyro”—seitan, cucumbers, tzatziki, seaweed. ”
Tzatziki is dairy! At the vegan counter? This is an outrage!

I’m not even a vegan (addicted to cheese, what can I say), but that line really stood out given that Mackey is. “This guy is pretty nuts, but that seems to be why he’s been so successful.”
Incidentally, I’m actually of the “whole paycheck” crowd – they are just too expensive for me most of the time.
